Why do you do the work you do?
The top reason for doing this job is because it is fun. Making the members smile and try new things enriches their lives and it is rewarding to see them surprise themselves.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love the activities and being able to find new and interesting topics to share with the members. It is amazing to learn about where the members have been and what they have achieved in their lives.
Why is the type of work you do so important?
Caretaking is a tough job for the loved ones. We give them time to breathe for everyone’s benefit. It is also important for me and the members to let the caregivers know they are appreciated.
What difference do you feel our service – and your work – makes for those we serve and their loved ones?
Guiding caregivers to find the best resources for their needs is huge. Being a part of Solutions is important because it takes a village to navigate so many changes at this stage of life and this team has the knowledge and experience to help guide in those tough times.
